The love of a woman

Lately

Her green eyes turned blue

She was tangled

Up in you

She changed herself

Tried to

Make herself just like you wanted

And you were supposed to make her safe

Be a safe space

But you wanted

Her to be like you wanted her to

And I poured her coffee

And everyone that meets her

Can’t help but fall in love with her

And her hair is still the same

And her tongue is still foul

And she still

Isn’t just like you wanted

You know

The first time

We entered space

And they looked back

On earth

Realized just how insignificant we really are

That’s what I felt

The day I saw you

Across the room

Everything else

Just faded

And her green eyes turned three shades of blue

And she’s tangled up in you

Love her her right

Love her true

Whether you know it or not

You’re insignificant

On your own

And she’s everything

Everything to you …
